Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox One owners with Xbox Live Gold subscriptions will get free games each month thanks to a special program dedicated to them, according to a short announcement made by the company's community manager, Larry Hryb.

Sony's PlayStation Plus service brings a variety of free games for owners of the PS3 and PS Vita consoles, but also for those who are getting the brand new PlayStation 4, as they'll be greeted with two great free titles – Resogun and Contrast.

Meanwhile, Microsoft tried to counter the program with its own Games with Gold for the Xbox 360 but, so far, its offers haven't been the best.

Now, after confirming that Games with Gold will continue for the foreseable future on Xbox 360, Microsoft has revealed that "access to free games each month is coming for Xbox Live Gold members" on Xbox One.

The announcement was made by Microsoft's Larry Hryb on Twitter, but he only mentioned that more details will appear "later in 2014."
