Free Xbox Live Gold Membership Thanks to Xtival 07

- Virtual European gaming festival going online in November

By: Alexandru Stanescu, Editor, Gaming Reviews (Consoles)

Microsoft have just announced that we're all going to be invited to a major Xbox 360 event called Xtival '07. It's an online event that takes place between November 23 and November 26 and it will be available on your console for free bringing you tons of exclusive demos, downloads, competitions and all the goodies you can imagine. The good news? Well, it's only good if you're
European, since this event is only directed towards European gamers, so it turns out that the US Xbox 360 owners won't be able to take part in the Xtival '07.

As part of this event, you'll be receiving a free Xbox Live Gold membership which lasts till the final day of the Xtival. All you have to do is plug the 360 in, access the Xbox Live and start snooping around for new content. The event has been strategically scheduled for a weekend and we've got 22 long days of waiting till Microsoft starts its original initiative. We suggest that you empty your hard drive (not right now) in order to be able to store the demos about to hit the Xbox Live.

Will we seeing a surprise MGS 4 demo or some Devil May Cry goodies, perhaps even a bite out of Konami's Silent Hill V? It seems that the Xbox 360's developer is trying to take over Europe once again as since its launch the gaming device had to fight for supremacy with the top selling Wii and portable consoles and the semi-failure called PS3. Since Sony are always keen on showing that they're better than Microsoft, it wouldn't surprise me to see that the PSN will get flooded with demos at the end of November. I, for one, am dreaming of a WiiWare event which will grant us the possibility of downloading all the famous NES and Game Boy titles for free...
