MobiMate has announced the release of a new application to help users while traveling abroad. A free version of the WorldMate will be available for all Nokia S60 handset users from now on.
WorldMate is the
application which will manage to provide travelers the information they
need in order to best organize their journey. Traveling is not always pleasant especially when you are not properly informed on what you should expect from the country you are going to reach or practical aspects about it.
Among the benefits that the user downloads along with the WorldMate program, there is a Weathercaster which will provide automatic weather update notifications. This can be configured as to receive both visual and vocal information, which is quite unusual. WorldMate also makes it possible to view five world clocks at the same time with Worldclocks and also to have a five day weather forecast for more than 400 locations worldwide, with Weather Forecasts.
Other services include a Currency Convertor and Exchange Rate
Service and a World Day/Night Map. Two services which have high chances of proving to be extremely useful is that of Comprehensive Flight Schedules and Real-Time Flight Status, which provide flight information to those who use the Pro version of WorldMate.
"Consumers expect basic content services to be free, and we agree. Beginning with this product we will only charge for our premium services, that provide significant value to frequent business travelers", said MobiMate CEO Nadav Gur. He added that "WorldMate's proliferation and the richness of our application enable us to take this important step, making our mobile service closer to Internet offerings".
WorldMate will be available for a free download at the company's website. For even more information provided, the user can choose to pay for the Pro version of the application. In exchange for that, he can receive extra services, such as Comprehensive Flight Schedules, Real-Time Flight Status and Satellite Weather Imagery.
