Microsoft has announced that the Microsoft Learning Resources for Windows Server "Longhorn" have went live online. At this time, the Redmond Company has made available a total of five clinics designed to showcase the new features and functionality of Windows Server Longhorn. Users are encouraged to access either the entire collection of courses or simply the one that interests them the most. The clinics are offered for free, but this aspect will change as the offer is valid only for a limited amount of time.

Microsoft offered this description of Windows Server Code Name "Longhorn" (Beta 3) Collection 5934: "In this online collection composed of four clinics, you are introduced to the new features and functionality in Windows Server "Longhorn". This includes server virtualization, security and policy management, branch office management, centralized application access, and server management. This online collection is composed of a rich multimedia experience."

The Redmond Company additionally revealed that the resources are addressed at IT professionals that aim to familiarize themselves with the new capabilities of the product. Microsoft additionally recommends that users have prior experience with implementing Windows Server 2000 or Windows Server 2003.

On the road to Windows Server 2007, Microsoft has recently released the first public testing milestone in the development process of Longhorn. Windows server Longhorn Beta 3 is an important step towards the final product that will be delivered in the second half of 2007.

Until this time, Microsoft has failed to confirm officially if Windows Server Longhorn will be released as Windows Server 2007 once the product is finalized, but there are a number of clues that point to this possibility.
