Want to get started with Windows Azure AppFabric beginning with the basics? Then Microsoft might have the right set of resources for you. The software giant is providing Cloud customers with the Windows Azure AppFabric Learning Series, available on CodePlex.

According to the description from Microsoft: “This is a video series which will demonstrate to developers and architects the basics of working with Windows Azure AppFabric.”

Users can also head over to the Microsoft Showcase in order to access the same collection of video materials online, but CodePlex provides them with the option of downloading the content for offline viewing.

At the time of this article, the Redmond company had shared no less than four videos: Introduction to the Windows Azure AppFabric Cache, Windows Azure AppFabric Cache - How to Set Up and Deploy a Simple Cache, Windows Azure AppFabric Cache - Caching SQL Azure Data, and Windows Azure AppFabric Cache - Caching Session State.

Links to the content on Microsoft Showcase are provided for all videos, along with download links for sample code offered alongside the training content.

“In this learning series you will find short videos that are episodic for easy consumption,” revealed a Microsoft representative.

“These videos are available via Silverlight streaming and available in full-screen and can be easily embedded in blogs, social media outlets, audience marketing campaigns, and upcoming enhancements to AppFabric.

“Episodes include technical samples, such as database scripts and code, and have all the technical assets available for download on the AppFabric Codeplex (Public) site.”

Windows Azure AppFabric is part of the Windows Azure platform. Specifically, Windows Azure AppFabric is designed to deal with middleware projects developed for the Cloud, making it easier to build, deploy and manage apps.

The Windows Azure AppFabric Learning Series is offered to customers under a Microsoft Public License (Ms-PL), which is an open source license.
