2009 marked the general availability of new releases of Windows client and Windows Server, accompanied by a range of resources from Microsoft. The Redmond company has made sure that end users, IT Professionals and developers can access information that will help them embrace the new platforms, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Two e-books focused on the two operating systems continue to be available from the Microsoft Download Center. Offered free of charge, the two e-books are addressed at a professional audience looking to adopt Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

IT pros are free to grab “Introducing Windows Server 2008 R2” and “Deploying Windows 7 Essential Guidance from the Windows 7 Resource Kit and TechNet Magazine” from the software giant. The resources are bound to contribute to streamlining the work for companies looking to deploy the successors of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 R2.

“Microsoft’s eBook Deploying Windows 7 Essential Guidance from the Windows 7 Resource Kit and TechNet Magazine combine selected chapters written by industry experts Mitch Tulloch, Tony Northrup, Jerry Honeycutt, Ed Wilson, and the Windows 7 Team with select Windows 7 articles from TechNet Magazine. Sample topics include: Deployment Platform, Planning Deployment, Testing Application Compatability, and 8 Common Issues in Windows 7 Migrations,” reads the overview of “Deploying Windows 7 Essential Guidance from the Windows 7 Resource Kit and TechNet Magazine.”

“Introducing Windows Server 2008 R2” is designed to simplify the installation and management of the latest iteration of Windows Server for large organizations running Windows-based servers. “Covering every aspect of Windows Server 2008 R2 in nine chapters and approximately 200 pages is clearly an impossible task. Rather than try to cover everything, we’ve focused on what is new and important, while giving you the context from Windows Server 2008,” reveals an excerpt from the book.
