It is not uncharacteristic for Microsoft to offer free copies of its Windows operating system as part of marketing initiatives designed to promote its products. The upcoming New Efficiency launch events across the United States make no exception to this rule. Microsoft is inviting business users to take part in the free events and subsequently receive a free copy of Windows 7 RTM. Windows 7 was released to manufacturing on July 22nd, 2009, and will be available to the public on October 22nd.

“These are the new innovations that can help you be part of the new efficiency. And at our free live events, you can learn, network, and get your copy of Windows 7,” Microsoft promises, revealing that the events will be focused on Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Exchange Server 2010.

There are no less than 25 events spread across the US. The New Efficiency launch tour will kick off in Miami, Denver and Minneapolis on September 24th, and will end in the first half of November. Those interesting will find a list of events along with the associated dates at the bottom of this article. All participants will have to register in order to attend, and receive their free copy of Windows 7.

“Offer good only in the 50 United States (includes D. of C.) to attendees of the Microsoft New Efficiency Launch. Limit one gift per person. This offer is non-transferable and cannot be combined with any other offer. This offer ends on November 10, 2009 while supplies last, and is not redeemable for cash. Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the recipient. This is a Microsoft event where items of value will be available at no charge to attendees. In order to comply with all applicable gift and ethics rules Microsoft will not provide these items to government employees (including military and educational institutions) without payment for the items or a signed authorization letter from the agency/institution ethics officer/attorney or designated executive officer,” Microsoft revealed.
