If you’re in Thailand looking for an urgent WiFi hotspot (for hangover reasons) and can’t seem to find one, try this free WiFi app which promises to find you any True Move hotspots across a 700 meter radius (or close to half a mile).

“Have you ever been in the situation that you’re in the city with no internet connection but need to send urgent paper to your boss? With WiFi application, you can find WiFi by True Move hotspots in area near you,” says the developer.

The app is free, so there’s no risk on your end if it doesn’t find anything useful for you. The creators say they’ve designed “WiFi” to check and connect to True Move hotspots within a 600 – 700 meters range, or 0.43 miles.

WiFi displays all its results on a handy map where you can just tap to connect. The developers also mention that “this application relies on your iPhone being able to locate itself,” meaning you have to enable Location Services first and foremost.

You can download WiFi on pretty much any iDevice, as it only requires iOS 4.3 to work.

The list of supported languages indicates that said application is for Thai users who have a subscription with TrueMove.

A communication conglomerate in Thailand, True Corporation Public Company Limited is the owner of Thailand's largest cable TV provider (True Visions). It also owns the largest ISP True Internet and the third largest mobile operator in Thailand, True Move.

Last year, True Move officially launched its 4G LTE commercial service on the 2100 MHz bandwidth, becoming the first mobile operator in Thailand to offer 4G speeds on the 2100 MHz spectrum.

The company plans to roll out hundreds of 4G base stations in central Bangkok, and thousands more in 15 major provinces in 2014.
