Apple’s largest TV ad archive on a single YouTube channel

Ever heard someone rant about how awesome Apple ads used to be and how they’re not so cool these days? If you want in on that, there’s a special place up on YouTube where you can enjoy every Apple commercial ever made. Just make sure to free up your weekend because there’s a lot of them.

Featuring the two guys from Apple’s legendary Get a Mac ads, EveryAppleAd is a popular YouTube channel dedicated to the Cupertino company’s TV commercials entirely.

“Apple’s largest TV ad archive”

It’s headlined like that but it’s not clear if Apple itself is behind the initiative. One thing is for sure, though. Whoever created the channel has deep admiration for the Mac makers at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino California.

Divided into multiple sections, the channel sports six tabs titled Home, Videos, Playlists, Channels, Discussion, and About. If you’re looking to just browse the ads and watch them either chronologically or randomly, hit the Videos tab. You can also filter the clips by Most Popular and Date Added.

The discussion tab is basically a long thread of comments, just like any comments section on any YouTube video. Playlists lets you see ads by criteria selected by the makers of the channel, such as the Verse campaign, International ads, reseller ads, and even unreleased footage.

Every Steve Jobs video ever made

The channel links to another Apple fan site called EverySteveJobsVideo. As its name implies, the site hosts every video ever made capturing the visionary genius that co-founded Apple in his parents’ garage with computer whiz Steve Wozniak.

The site is also home to some very iconic interviews of the man along with Arch rival Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft. Other interesting tidbits on there include Apple’s 10 most important keynote announcements of all time, and “never-seen-photos” of Jobs returning to Apple. Well, by now they’ve been seen by quite a lot of people we imagine.

Mac versus PC

Perhaps most importantly, EveryAppleAd plays host to the vast Get a Mac library of ads featuring John Hodgman as PC and Justin Long as Mac.

The campaign, created for then-Apple Computer, Inc. by TBWA\Media Arts Lab, ran from 2006 to 2009, when Apple eventually changed its name to simply Apple Inc.

It ran not only in the United States, but also in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Japan, and ultimately made its way onto every Internet-connected screen through the power of VOD services like YouTube. The ads were also featured on Apple’s official web site.

The Get a Mac ads are probably the most popular and the most highly regarded of all Apple campaigns thanks to the easily recognizable characters and their continued jabs at each other over the strengths of the Mac and the weaknesses of the PC.

Head on over to the YouTube channel and enjoy. We’ve embedded one of our favorites at the bottom for your instant viewing pleasure.
