A new update has been released for this game

Unvanquished is a free, open source first-person shooter that combines real-time strategy elements in its gameplay. It's been in the works for quite some time and the developers have been making great progress. They now have a new version out and it comes with a new gameplay addition.

Unvanquished is becoming more stable and its makers don't need to add too many features to the gameplay. They usually take care of various smaller problems, but now they've added an important gameplay element called the "rocker pod," which should make things a lot more interesting.

The game is still being worked on and there is no end in sight. It still carries the Alpha version and the devs know just how advanced they are. We just wished that things would advance quicker so we get to properly test the final version.

Unvanquished is advancing, but not too fast

There is no denying that great progress has been made with this game, but the improvements seem to be arriving rather slowly. A new update is made available almost on a monthly basis, but there seems to be no end to the Alpha iterations.

"The star of this release is the rocket pod, which makes its debut as a major gameplay feature and our newest addition to the human base. It replaces the old tesla generator, and functions by firing long-ranged homing rockets that pack a serious punch. We also have new first-person claws for the marauder and mantis, based off their third-person models. This means that all of the slashing aliens now have the appropriate first-person animations, and we’ll think up a suitable effect for the biting aliens," said the devs.

More details about this sci-fi title can be found on the official website. Keep in mind that this is a work in progress and players will most likely encounter problems and other issues. You can download Unvanquished Alpha 35 right now from Softpedia.
