INTERNET LIFE

Free Torrent Download For the Latest Harry Potter Book

- The book was leaked on the Internet

By: Bogdan Popa, Security and Search Engines Editor

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, the latest book concerning the famous hero, is about to be released in this weekend in several corners of the world. But the very addicted fans now have an alternative. The latest J. K. Rowling's creation was leaked on the Internet by a user who managed to obtain a US edition on the book and photograph every page. The British edition of the book has 608 pages while the American version has no less than 784 pages so the Internet release is much bigger. However, it seems like the user who photographed the book was quite in a
hurry as some of the torrents are offering only 495 pages.

There are a lot of BitTorrent websites that are offering the latest Harry Potter book as a free download. But some of the downloaders might be quite disappointed. Because the book is entirely photographed, some of the pages are very low quality while other cannot be read at all.

Of course, the real fans of Harry Potter will rather wait for the official release of the book instead of downloading a pirated version from a BitTorrent website. However, most of the pages are recording thousand of downloads so the book's sales might be really affected.

This is another proof that even the offline and classic content that doesn't have any relation with the digital world can be easily pirated and distributed on the Internet. Although numerous BitTorrent websites had already removed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows from their offerings, it underlines a serious issue with the pirated content that might cause new trouble for the owners of those pages.

Take the example of TorrentSpy, one of the websites that indexed BitTorrents pages offering free downloads. The authorities closed the webpage for a limited period of time and even demanded the owners to provide private details about the users who accessed the content looking for pirated material.
