Skype is calling out to Mac users looking to test out the new Click to Call service that allows you to call others who have the service installed with a click.

Skype Click to Call lets you go from browsing the web to making a call in a single click. Once you install Skype Click to Call, numbers are highlighted with blue and gray buttons across most web browsers and sites.

You can call the blue ones free of charge, and you need Skype Credit or a subscription to call the gray numbers.

Raul Liive is spreading the word over at the Skype Garage blog:

“We're in the process of developing Skype Click to Call functionality for Mac. This will enable Mac users to make calls with Skype directly from their browser. It's free to call numbers with blue buttons - you'll be given Skype Credit to call all other numbers.”

The post continues, with Liive saying, “We have reached a point where we would like to share Skype Click to Call with select participants to get early feedback. As this is a closed beta, we will be asking all selected participants to sign a non-disclosure agreement with Skype.”

The company will be offering free Skype credit, and a memorable gift to active participants as a token of their appreciation for taking part in the beta. The top contributor will be awarded a larger gift.

To enlist your interest in the Skype Click to Call closed beta for Mac, you will be required to fill out a survey.

The Skype people promise to contact those who have been selected for the beta in the next few days.

The company has recently updated the iOS Skype app with some chat improvements, as well as some UI enhancements.
