Nintendo has just announced that it will be holding a special promotion with GameStop and EB Games, which will offer free Shiny versions of special Pokemon in preparation of the upcoming launch of Pokemon Black and White.
In what will certainly motivate dedicated Pokemon gamers to get out of their houses after the holiday season, Nintendo has revealed that it will be offering three shiny versions of legendary Pokemons, completely for free, in select GameStop locations around the USA and Canada.
The mechanics of the deal are pretty simple, as all you need to do is bring your Nintendo DS handheld into stores, alongside a copy of the following titles: Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold or Soul Silver.
If you visit GameStop between January 3 and 9, you will get a Shiny Raikou, between January 17 and 23, Shiny Entei, and between January 31 and February 6, a Shiny Suicune.
These special Pokemon won't do anything specific in the aforementioned games, but you can import them into the upcoming
Pokemon Black or White games, which will be launched next year, in March.
In that game, they will allow you to find and catch Zoroark, as this is the only way to uncover him in those two games.

Before you leave home:
- Bring your Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL system
-Bring your copy of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver Version game (sold separately).
-You will need to make sure you have obtained the Pokédex in your game.
-Make sure you don’t have more than two Wonder Cards. If you do,you’ll need to delete one to make room. Your Shiny Legendary cannot be deposited into the GTS.
When you arrive at GameStop:
-Turn on your game and select “MYSTERY GIFT” from the main menu. If this is your first time using MYSTERY GIFT, a message will appear letting you know that a signal has been detected. If you don’t have a Pokédex yet, a screen will appear and tell you that you need to get it first.
-Select "RECEIVE GIFT".
-After you select ‘RECEIVE GIFT”, select “GET VIA WIRELESS” and choose “YES”.
After distribution is complete:
-Make sure you have at least one open spot in your party for your Shiny Legendary Pokémon!
-Go to any Poké Mart and talk to the delivery man in green standing in front of the counter and he will give you your shiny legendary!
-Now check your Pokémon party and you’ll see that your shiny legendary is there!
-Don’t forget to save your game!
