The Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) has always been a great source of content designed to streamline the work of developers using the company’s technologies, and it’s the case with SharePoint. Developers creating projects on top of SharePoint 2010 are now able to take advantage of a new collection of resources offered free of charge by the software giant.

The SharePoint 2010 Development Video Center is now live, and as the name implies the video materials offered can help devs build solutions running on of Microsoft’s offering, targeting both the intranet portals and the web.

“Have just a few minutes to learn something new? Watch these short videos about creating custom solutions with SharePoint Online, SharePoint Server, and SharePoint Foundation,” the company states.

In all fairness, there are additional video resources on the SharePoint Developer Center on top of what’s in the Video Center alone, such as the content in the Getting Started section.

But the new Video Center for SharePoint 2010 developers packs a comprehensive collection of training content and guidance that devs need to be aware of.

There are videos from Tech-Ed 2011, but also additional materials under sections such as Getting Started, SharePoint Online, Channel9, Visual How Tos, How Do I, Quick Notes, Advanced Training, Enterprise Search Training, and SharePoint Conference.

In short, all developers, whether they’re just starting to build for SharePoint 2010, SharePoint Server 2010, or SharePoint Designer 2010; or advanced devs can get something out of the new SharePoint 2010 Development Video Center.

Because of the way that the training content is structured, in bite size chunks, devs can spend as much time as they want watching videos, or as little as they can afford.

The SharePoint 2010 Development Video Center is certainly worth checking out, and perhaps coming back to get access to more free content from the Redmond company.
