Sweetwater's online place for Pro Tools is now open

You don't need me to advertise for Pro Tools as all those who have ever thought seriously about making music have at least heard of this very popular DAW. Now, the more you can do with a piece of software the more complex it is, that's a fact. Another fact is that complex applications (in any field) have a longer learning curve and almost every time extensive training courses/ tutorials and how-tos are required until basic functions and techniques have been properly mastered.

Pro Tools is no exception to this rule: much it does, serious training is required. Now, each application has its help files but sometimes they can be rather hard to understand or even worse, they do not explain nor do they solve specific matters day-by-day use might be confronted to.

The human factor and working experience have been demonstrated to address such issues with the best approach. That's why Sweetwater and Digidesign have decided to team up their efforts and build this online, searchable Knowledge Base containing more than 6,000 articles. And if you think this isn't enough, on this support site the Pro Tools users can easily access "learn as you go"-type movies for PT beginners, courtesy of Groovebox.

Next in line, there are a lot of frequently asked questions answered by the guys at Pro Tools as well as extensive info relating to hardware compatibility and generic troubleshooting. The additional forum for Pro Tools users (both newbies and pros) provides a place where each user can share his expertise with others, get info on niche-issues, even get to work in teams. Everything for both Mac and Windows users, it looks like this virtual support center will soon become one of the most important official knowledge resources for the Pro Tools world... in the world.

Take a look at the new website regardless of whether you use PT or not... you may be surprised to see yourself learning new things...
