Sony has announced that its free-to-play MMO Free Realms has just received another update incorporating a new set of features that players have been requesting while also making available some content designed specifically for the Christmas period.

Players now have access to personal houses, allowing them a space they own and control. There are three types of homes available at the moment and they can get unique items with which to decorate before actually inviting other people over and even throwing a party.

The Apartment housing is available to everyone and will offer space for 75 items, while the Small Wilds House and the Large Wilds House are available to those who are willing to play or subscribe for a membership, keeping the tiered structure visible throughout Free Realms. There are more than 100 new items that can be obtained for the houses, from a Mega Dance Floor to a Rocket Ship, which can actually be launched into space.

The new update also marks the beginning of Snow Days, the winter holiday time of celebration, set to transform Snowhill into a winter theme park. There are holiday treats for everyone, as long as players can stop the Robgoblins and the evil snowmen from taking them all and a new area has been opened up where snowball fights can be organized between parties of players.

Free Realms is also getting more pets for players to use, including dragons, dinosaurs, ponies, pegasi and unicorns. They are available in a wide range of colors and can be bought from the marketplace Sony maintains in the MMO. All the pets can learn a variety of tricks that they can perform at a command of the player. The company is also mentioning that it has introduced fishing as a job.
