Free Realm Transfers for WoW: Mists of Pandaria Offered by Blizzard

Blizzard has confirmed that, because of the high strain on certain servers due to the recent release of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, it’s offering free transfers for players on crowded realms.

World of Warcraft fans have eagerly awaited the release of the Mists of Pandaria expansion for quite some time and, like with any big add-on for WoW, lots of people have reactivated their accounts and started playing once more.

This has led to lengthy queue times for certain servers, so Blizzard has now revealed that it’s offering free transfers on certain realms to other servers for a limited time.

"We're providing free transfers off of overpopulated source realms that are currently seeing high queue times," the studio said. "We're planning to allow the current transfers to go until approximately 9:00 a.m. PDT, October 4, but please note that if a large number of people transfer to a destination realm we may need to end the free transfers early."

Eight realms are eligible for transfer and each has a pre-determined destination, so you can’t ask to be sent on another server.

"Although free Guild Master Realm Transfers are not possible at this time, these free character transfers will allow you to retain your guild membership and reputation, provided the guild master completes a paid Guild Master Realm Transfer to the destination realm first, and does not change factions," the studio added.
