In the present days anyone can build a website without having any knowledge of web development principles or any other web programming language. There are many online services and standalone applications that can generate a website, even with content in it.

But most of people understand the importance of a unique Internet presence given by an original website. In order to construct a static website composed only of HTML pages you will need a WYSIWYG editor. Amaya is a suitable tool for beginners because it allows the simultaneous browsing and authoring of many types of documents using drag and drop actions in a very friendly GUI (graphical user interface).

This editor can also help you customize any HTML template you choose for your website, because the usage of templates in web development improves the speed of your work and will let you concentrate on the website content and structure organization.

Images could be processed with any image editing software. For best results, you should use GIMP, which is the open source clone of the well known Adobe Photoshop commercial application. GIMP software will allow you to control many types of graphic files and animation formats, providing various features to obtain professional graphics elements for your website.

During the development process the website must be tested in different web browsers to verify if all its intended features are corectly rendered. Almost any modern web browser, such as Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera and more, supports free plugins that allows you to check the web page compliance with web standards. It is recommended to install the appropriate plugins in order to validate your web pages.

Finally, you will need a FTP client to upload the website on a web server. A reliable and fast FTP client is FileZilla, which can also be used to optimize your website directory structure on the web server. After you gather and learn to use all these tools you will be ready to begin your website construction. You should also check the existence of other equivalent software if you are not satisfied with the tools presented in this article.
