The free phone service 1-800-GOOG-411 that allows users to interact with any business by voice is now compatible with Google Maps, enabling the consumers to receive a link to a map with their search query. Basically, the phone service was created to help users search for a certain business by voice and get the results on a handheld device. Using the newly introduced feature, the product is enhanced with Map details, allowing you to localize the business with ease. If you have a Google Maps compatible mobile phone, the service is even more useful because you can find the address with ease.

All you need to do to get the link for the Google Maps location is to say "map it" after you dialed the Google number and wait for a SMS message with the information you required.

"Today, your GOOG-411 experience just got better: during your call to GOOG-411, just say "map it", and you'll get a text message with the details of your search plus a link to a map of your results right on your mobile phone," Arnaud Sahuguet, Product Manager, and Mike LeBeau, Software Engineer, announced today.

The mobile market becomes more attractive for most of the Internet companies and this especially because the consumers are looking for alternative solutions to stay online. Take the example of Yahoo, the Sunnyvale company that is now struggling to conquer the mobile market with its famous oneSearch technology. If you didn't know, oneSearch is a mobile search platform that helps you search the Internet with the power of the giant portal.

In comparison with Yahoo, the Mountain View company Google strives to create mobile flavors of its products to allow consumers access to its tools from any location. Google Maps, Gmail, Google Calendar and even Google Search are just a few examples of the mobile solutions owned by the search giant.
