Since 2006

The free, advertisement-based online digital music service SpiralFrog has problems leaping from the "Coming soon" stage. SpiralFrog was initially announced at the end of August 2006 as
a free music download destination, with an advertisement payment solution at its basis.

However, while SpiralFrog was initially supposed to debut download in December 2006, the release date slipped. And instead of free digital music downloads spiraling down Internet connections, top executives from the company have spiraled out of the company.

Robin Kent, the former CEO of advertising agency Universal McCann Worldwide is now also the former Chief Executive Officer of SpiralFrog after being ousted. Kent warmed the CEO seat at SpiralFrog from July to December 2006, but when he left, several board members and top executives followed his example.

Sources close to SpiralFrog have confirmed that at least five other executives along with three board directors have left the online digital music service. Despite the boardroom walkout at SpiralFrog, in protest for the firing of Kent, the music store is still scheduled for release sometime at the start of 2007. Currently, there is no actual date that will point out when SpiralFrog will become functional. Since the ad-based digital download service was announced in 2006, the same "Coming soon" announcement greets the visitors.

SpiralFrog did not comment in any manner the situation, and failed to issue any official statements regarding the situation. Robin Kent also refused to comment on his departure from SpiralFrog.
