Microsoft has taken its package of free software to the next level by adding new downloads to the already quite generous suite of offerings.

Aimed at providing Microsoft technologies fit for IT professionals to students free of charge, DreamSpark has now grown with the addition of six new products.

Of course, DreamSpark continues to be provided without charge to students worldwide, a laudable initiative for the Redmond company, especially considering the worth of a single package of software.

“Dreamspark is all about free development software for students. This week we added six new or updated products to the mix,” revealed Microsoft’s Alfred Thompson.

“This release included: Kodu, SmallBasic, Mathematics 4.0, SQL Server 08 R2, XNA Game Studio 4.0 and Windows Embedded Standard 7.”

And if you think that just the list mentioned above is impressive, then you should undoubtedly check out the entire collection of products and technologies that the software giant is offering.

In addition to the new software mentioned by Thompson, DreamSpark also contains such software as: Visual Studio 2010, Windows Phone, Visual Studio 2008, Robotics Developer Studio 2008 R3, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Embedded Standard, and others.

DreamSpark is truly an exceptional collection of Microsoft technologies to get students involved in software development.

“DreamSpark provides professional-level developer and design tools to students and educators around the world at no charge. These Microsoft tools will help you advance your learning and skills through technical design, technology, math, science, and engineering activities,” the software giant reveals.

“High Schools, Vocational and Trade Schools, Community Colleges, and Universities are all eligible to participate in the DreamSpark program. Simply put, any accredited school around the world is eligible.

Microsoft has been continually introducing new technologies to the DreamSpark collection of technologies, and this has transformed into a trend which the company is bound to continue moving forward.
