14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft is allowing customers running Lync 2010 to download the video contents of the self-paced training courses provided for the product. The Microsoft Lync 2010 Self-Paced Training Videos are offered free of charge on the company’s Download Center.
Packed as a .ZIP archive, the download weighs in at 140MB and offers users the Lync 2010 training videos in the Windows Media Video (.wmv) format.
“These videos can be posted to a company’s intranet site or incorporated into a company’s training plans,” the Redmond company revealed.
At the same time, the downloadable videos are also bound to serve those that want to access training content related to Lync 2010 even in offline scenarios.
Microsoft has built an impressive collection of Help and How-to materials which it’s sharing with the public also free of charge.
A collection of Training Courses are available for Lync 2010 from the Redmond company online. However, the training courses represent only a small part of the entire Lync 2010 Help and How-to set of resources that Microsoft is providing to customers.
“Lync 2010 communications software creates a virtual connection between you and the people you work with. It lets you talk, share your desktop and programs, and work together in real time, all from your computer,” is Microsoft’s answer to the “So, exactly what is Microsoft Lync 2010?” question.
The successor of Office Communications Server, Lync Server 2010 and adjacent offerings were released to manufacturing in November 2010 and have been available to customers since.

Free training from the company can obviously be taken advantage of in concert with the trial releases of Lync 2010 without requiring customers to pay a single center.
