Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox 360 owners with active Xbox Live Gold subscriptions will receive free access to two great titles via the Games with Gold program this month of April, in the form of Hitman: Absolution and Deadlight.

Ever since last summer, Microsoft has tried to add a bit more value to the Xbox Live Gold subscription and make it more attractive to Xbox 360 owners worldwide. As such, it launched a special program called Games with Gold that offered two free games for all Gold users to play each month.

While the program definitely sounded great, it didn't exactly delight Xbox 360 owners as the selection of games was quite old, ever since the early days of the console.

In recent months, however, Microsoft has managed to score some much better deals and the month of April looks even better, as two impressive titles are going free.

First up, between today, April 1, and April 16, Xbox 360 owners will be able to download Hitman: Absolution, the great stealth action game from IO Interactive and Square Enix that made its debut back in 2012 for the Xbox 360, alongside other platforms like PC or PS3.

The game once again stars Agent 47 and tasks him with completing a wide range of assassinations and missions. Players will be able to control the bald killer in a variety of different situations and this time around the good agent is quite proficient when it comes to head-to-head gunfights.

After completing the story campaign, you can also engage in the top notch Contracts asynchronous multiplayer mode, in which different missions created by players are delivered to others so that they can test their skills in many different ways.

"Betrayed by the Agency and hunted by the police, Agent 47 finds himself pursuing redemption in a corrupt and twisted world. Blend into plain sight, kill with your bare hands and fashion a weapon from almost anything," Microsoft said about the new title on the Xbox Wire.

Besides Hitman: Absolution, between April 16 and April 30, Xbox 360 owners can get another free title in the form of Deadlight.

The side-scrolling 2.5D puzzle platformer focuses on a single protagonist, Randall Wayne, who must search for his family in a post-apocalyptic version of Seattle from the 1980s. Great visuals, impressive set piece moments, and plenty of tricky platforming sections will certainly test the skill of players.

"There is no hope, no new beginning, only the survivors. This visually stunning and highly cinematic survival platformer will challenge you to run, jump, climb and struggle for your life as you look for answers and the ones you love."

Hitman: Absolution can already be downloaded for free for the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live. Deadlight will replace it on April 16.
