Microsoft has just kicked off a very special promotion to Xbox Live users who’ve yet to sign up for a Gold membership, as everyone who gets a subscription of a minimum of six months receives five free games as digital downloads.

Xbox Live Gold members enjoy quite a lot of features, including multiplayer access for their titles, but there are still lots of people who have just a regular Xbox Live Free membership.

In order to get more Xbox 360 owners to pay for their subscriptions, Microsoft has now kicked off a special promotion in which any Free user who gets a Gold membership of more than six months receives five games for free.

These titles include full-fledged ones like Halo: Reach or Fable III, as well as Kinect Sports, Toy Soldiers, or The Gunstringer.

The promotion is currently available in the UK, at least according to GamerZines, and lasts until April 3.

The codes for the downloadable games will be sent within four to six weeks after getting your Gold membership.

Expect to hear some more details about it and whether it will be available in other territories, soon.
