The Free Game Alliance, an initiative created by Atomic Blue, the makers of PlaneShift, has just been announced.

The Free Game Alliance is a collection of five games: PlaneShift, MegaGlest, Xonotic, Rigs of Rods and The Battle of Wesnoth. They cover a lot of genres like first person shooters, a real time strategy game, and MMO.

The selected games are in active and open development, so there is plenty for users to explore and contribute if they want to.

At the same time they are already playable on all major platforms (Windows, Linux, Macintosh) bringing you a lot of fun.

This is a great idea, to make the games on the Linux platform a lot more popular and to make people understand that Linux can be a lot of fun and not just business.

Download  PlaneShift, MegaGlest, Xonotic, Rigs of Rods, and The Battle of Wesnoth right now from Softpedia.
