14 DAY TRIAL // When Samsung launched its Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone last Spring, the South Korean company announced the device comes bundled with software and services worth of more than $600 (€550).
Today, the handset maker confirmed it would provide exclusive Galaxy Gifts packages for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones, which have already been released in some markets.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy Gifts package of more than $500 (€458) combined market value is meant to allow Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge owners the opportunity to enjoy premium apps and and services they want most.
Here are some of the apps and services that will be available for free with the purchase of any of Samsung's flagship smartphones: Audible (3-month membership), Dragons of Atlantis: Heirs of the Dragon (5,000 in-game gold), The Economist (6-month digital subscription), Endomondo (6-month of Endomondo Premium), Evernote (3-month of Evernote Premium), Flesky Keyboard (including premium themes), Hancom Office 2014.
Some apps need to be downloaded, others come preloaded
The South Korean company also confirmed that users might need to download some of these applications from Galaxy Apps in order to take advantage of their features, while others will be available via Google Play Store.
The Galaxy Gifts package will also contain The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle Earth (100 Mithril), Keepy (6-month Keepy Unlimited), Kindle for Samsung (one ebook per month), LastPass (3-month Premium use for US customers and 6-month Premium use for international customers), Life360 (6-month premium subscription), Magisto (3-month Magisto Pro HD), and NY Times Breaking News (3-month subscription).
Microsoft's OneDrive service will come preloaded on both Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones and will offer users an extra 100GB of cloud storage for free for two years. This offer is only available on devices where OneDrive is preloaded.
Last but not least, the Galaxy Gifts package will also contain PAC-MAN Friends (additional 30 plays), Parallels Access (6-month subscription), Pocket (6-month subscription to Pocket Premium), Shazam Encore (ad-free version), VSCO Cam, and Workout Trainer (6-month of Workout Trainer Pro+).
