14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has just unleashed the free standalone expansion for Forza Horizon 2 based on the upcoming Fast & Furious 7 movie, in the form of the simply titled Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious, which is available for free until April 10 on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Forza Horizon 2 launched for the Xbox One in the fall of last year and delivered an intense open world racing experience that delighted through great visuals, stunning cars, and lots of impressive tracks set in the Southern Europe setting.
Since then, developer Playground Games has presented plenty of free and premium DLC packs that brought new cars and adventures.
The special Fast & Furious expansion is now live
Now, the studio is rolling out the special Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious standalone expansion for the game, which can be downloaded for free on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 platforms, through the Xbox Live marketplace.
The new experience is based, like its name suggests, on the famous racing movie franchise, with a bigger focus on the upcoming Fast & Furious 7, which is scheduled to debut starting next week worldwide.
"The next great automotive adventure begins with the Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious standalone expansion for Xbox One! For the first time ever, the Forza experience of thrilling driving and amazing cars is combining with the unstoppable Fast & Furious movie franchise to create an original adventure filled with adrenaline-fueled automotive action," its description reads.
The experience is a single-player one, but there are online leaderboards so that you can compare your performance with others online.
On the Xbox 360, the expansion weighs in at around 2.22GB, but on the Xbox One it's a whopping 15GB in size.
Both versions are free until April 10, and afterwards, those who missed out on the experience have to pay 10 USD/EUR in order to enjoy the lightweight racing title.
