After a couple of leaks and reports, Sony has officially confirmed the free games that will arrive for PlayStation Plus subscribers in PAL territories in March, including Dead Nation for the PS4 and Tomb Raider for the PS3.

PlayStation Plus users have been treated to plenty of great free titles in the last few years and, for the month of March, Sony isn't stopping the avalanche of deals.

Even though the announcement was spoiled by reports in the last few days, Sony has revealed on the PS blog that five great games are going to be offered for free to Plus subscribers in PAL regions like Europe, Australia, New Zealand, or the Middle East.

These are Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition for the PS4, Tomb Raider and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons for the PS3, as well as Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate HD and Smart As for the PS Vita.

Dead Nation first appeared for the PS3 back in 2010 from developer Housemarque, and it is now going to make its debut on the PS4 in the form of the Apocalypse Edition. This new version of the game includes the full campaign mode that can be played alone or cooperatively with a friend, as well as the Road to Devastation expansion that brings two extra game modes: Arcade and Endless.

PS3 owners can treat themselves to two of the best titles that appeared last year on the platform – Tomb Raider and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.

Tomb Raider reimagines the action adventure series and introduces a younger version of protagonist Lara Croft, who's now shipwrecked on an island filled with deadly scavengers and other supernatural threats.

Brothers, on the other hand, tells the story of two brothers, as the name implies, who embark on an epic quest to save their sick father. They'll encounter all sorts of puzzles and, through the two analog sticks on the DualShock 3 controller, you'll control both of them at the same time.

PS Vita owners will be able to explore the beautiful Pixeljunk universe with Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate HD, which allows them to control Tikiman and engage in some serious tower defense action using all sorts of abilities. The online and ad-hoc cooperative modes also allow for great moments alongside other PS Vita owners.

Finally, Smart As makes use of the portable console's touch, tilt, and camera controls in order to test out the player's intelligence. You'll have to solve math, memory, logic, and word puzzles, not to mention augmented reality challenges, and compare your scores with others online.

All these new titles will be added to the Instant Game Collection on March 5, when they replace Outlast for the PS4, Guacamalee, and Metro: Last Light for the PS3, and Modnation Racers and Dynasty Warriors Next for the PS Vita.

You can expect some of these new titles, like Dead Nation and Tomb Raider, to be confirmed for PlayStation Plus users in North America soon.
