Lately there has been a lot of talk about Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar's extremely popular western simulator, and its new paid downloadable content packs which were released up until now, but now a free pack of DLC has also been detailed by its developer, Rockstar.

After hearing yesterday about the Undead Nightmare DLC, which will be launched "very soon", the company has now detailed a new outfit pack for Red Dead Redemption, entitled the "Hunting and Trading Outfits Pack."

The pack will be available to all PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Red Dead Redemption players on October 12, via the two console's online service, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, respectively.

While the DLC may not sound like much, it will contain two new outfits and the associated challenges that need to be met in order to unlock them.

The first one is the Savvy Merchant outfit, that will allow gamers to get all their guns and ammo from traders with a 50 percent discount, a very nice deal especially in the early stages of Red Dead Redemption's single-player campaign.

The Expert Hunter pack will allow players to get double the amount of skins or hides from their hunting endeavors, and will also add a new animal to the world, entitled the Jackalope.

Besides the new outfits, the Hunting and Trading pack will also pack in a compatibility update that will allow players who don't have the previously released paid packs, Liars and Cheats and Legends and Killers, to see those that are playing with characters exclusive to those pieces of DLC.

This isn't the first free DLC update to Red Dead Redemption, as Rockstar released another one shortly after the game's release, entitled Outlaws to the End, and contained the necessary things for online co-operative multiplayer withing the game's campaign mode.

The next piece of paid DLC will be the Undead Nightmare pack, and will add lots of new single-player missions that will see the game's protagonist, John Marston, duke it out with zombies throughout America's wild west.
