Fred Perry may release 3 more clothing collections designed by Amy Winehouse, report suggests

Last year, Amy Winehouse teamed up with Fred Perry for a clothing line that would be centered on her unique, vintage-inspired style. Two collections were released, but three others may be on the way, if the Winehouse family gives them the green-light.

The initial Fred Perry by Amy Winehouse collection proved to be a smashing hit since, despite the singer’s troubled personal life and the attention she’d get for it, fans still rushed to replicate her unmistakable look.

The Daily Mail is now reporting that the company has at least three other collections from the same line completed, but it’s torn as to whether it would be suitable to release them or not.

“In a recent interview with Harpers Bazaar, the troubled singer revealed that three more collections of the Fred Perry x Amy Winehouse line had been completed, taking the collaboration through to Autumn/Winter 2012,” the Mail writes.

Should Fred Perry decide to put them out there, it would first need approval from Amy’s family and management – and it’s too soon to ask for it, the British tab says.

“The latest collection to be released has been almost entirely bought up, in part driven by the increased interest in anything related to the singer since her demise,” writes the Mail.

“Since this weekend’s news, the Fred Perry collection has sold out completely on the Fred Perry website,” adds the tab. On Asos.com, only three items from the entire collection are still available.

Contacted for comment, Fred Perry would not commit an answer. “Everything is on hold until we speak with Amy’s family and management,” is the official line.

However, should more clothes with the Amy Winehouse signature come out in the following months, they’re bound to have Amy’s touch all over them.

When the first collection was released, Fred Perry Marketing Manager Richard Martin described working with Amy as a dream come true, because she knew from the start what she wanted to make and was very involved every step of the way.

“Bright, passionate, and dedicated, with strong ideas of exactly what it was that she wanted from the range. Detailing, fabrics – she was all over it. All over it,” Martin said in 2010.
