Former teen star turned musician had another episode last December

Frankie Muniz, once one of Hollywood’s most bankable teens thanks to his role on “Malcom in the Middle,” is now living a quiet life out of the spotlight, as a musician, producer and writer, having retired from acting. However, it seems, he’s still plagued by some mysterious medical issues.

In December last year, Muniz casually announced on Twitter that he’d been rushed to the hospital after experiencing a spell of dizziness, shortness of breath and inability to speak. The doctors diagnosed the episode as a mini-stroke but could not determine what caused it.

Well, whatever it was, it hasn’t gone away because Frankie just had another stroke, which makes it his second in less than year.

“Almost a year to the day, I experienced another mini stroke. Hopefully that will be the last. Miserable,” Frankie says on his Twitter feed.

He doesn’t provide more details even though his fans are concerned for him and they’re letting him know it. However, his next tweet is about how he sold his Smart car that day and how badly he’s going to miss it, so we might as well assume that he was discharged from the hospital and was on the mend.

Several media outlets reached out to Muniz and his manager for a comment on his status but, so far, no word back. We should probably note, in case you missed it in the headline, that Muniz is only 27 years old.

Muniz won 2 Golden Globe Award nominations and an Emmy nomination for his role on “Malcom in the Middle,” which, in 2003, led him to be named one of the “most bankable” up and coming actors, as noted above.

Five years later, as the offers stopped coming in, Muniz retired from acting and chose to focus in on his other interests, including open wheel racing. Since 2012, he’s a drummer for Kingsfoil.
