Franck Ribery must make a decision about his future once and for all. After being linked with an Arsenal move, the French midfielder ruled out his transfer from Marseille. Although the English side got all the way into the Champions League final and he could have played alongside Thierry Henry, Ribery refused to initiate talk with the gunners.
Soon after, the Frenchman stated that his future lies with the Marseille side and that, if it were for him, he would never leave France.
And the situation didn't suffer any changes, with one exception only. Ribery seems to want out of Olimpique. Just days after showing his affection towards the club, he is now determined to look elsewhere for success.
"I want to play the Champions League and to keep improving. The club officials know where I want to go and the club I wish to sign for also know it. Now both clubs have to reach an agreement", admitted Ribery. The French midfielder was also linked with a move to champions Olimpique Lyon.
Still, is he wants to make the Champions League, the player's agent must reach an agreement very soon. The Champions League will get under way pretty soon, and Ribery must enter the UEFA list before the end of August.
Despite the latest rumors and the player's statements, the Marseille president, Pape Diouf, assured the club's fans that Ribery will stay at the club at least one more year. Still, if he is to sell Franck, Marseille would manage a hell of a bargain, since the Frenchman was transferred without any money one season ago, from Galatasaray Istanbul.
Alongside Olimpique Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are also interested in signing the 23-year old ace.
