Fractal Designs, a company well renowned for its stylish computer enclosures, has just updated its portfolio with a brand new micro-ATX case, dubbed the Core 1000, that features an all-back interior and supports graphics cards up to 350mm in length.

The chassis features a pretty simple and stylish design which bears an eerie resemblance with the Define R3.

In addition to its looks, some of its features have also been borrowed from the Define-series, including the hard drive anti-vibration silicon grommets and the easily removable front panel that hides the pre-fitted fan filters.

Removing the front panel reveals a 120mm fan that comes standard with the chassis and is placed right near the HDD bays to better cool the drives.

Two other fans can be installed on the Core 1000, one rear 92mm and one side panel 120mm, and the hot chassis air can also be expelled by the PSU fan.

As far as CPU cooling is concerned, Fractal Design states that the Core 1000 supports coolers with a maximum height of 135mm.

The chassis is also compatible with graphics cards that measure up to 350mm in length, this includes the AMD Radeon HD 6990 and the Nvidia GTX 590, as the HDD bracket can be easily removed to make room for such a dual-GPU monster.

Speaking of HDDs, users can install up to three 2.5-inch drives or two 3.5-inch and the chassis even features a pair of 5.25-inch bays (one can be converted to hold 3.5-inch drives via the included adapter).

The Core 1000 is compatible with both micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards and the front panel houses two USB 2,0 ports and audio I/O. Sadly, users don't get USB 3.0 connectivity.

Fractal Design hasn't yet announced the price of the Core 1000, but the case should be available shortly.
