The enclosure trades the side window for a simpler panel

Arc Midi R2, is one of Fractal Design's less ostentatious cases, but even so, it still has a side window. Or perhaps we should say it had a side window.

The truth lies somewhere in the middle. While the original still has the side window, the Arc Midi R2 Solid Side Panel does not.

Instead, it has a normal panel with a section popped full of holes, allowing air to pass through it. A fan is meant to be installed over that mesh section.

Other than that, the Arc Midi R2 is a normal enough chassis, although a fairly heavy one, at 10.7 kg / 23.58 pounds.

On that note, it measures 230 (W) x 460 (H) x 515 (D) mm / 9.05 x 18.11 x 20.27 inches and supports ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboards.

Other assets of the Arc Midi R2 Solid Side Panel include two 5.25-inch bays, eight 3.5-inch / 2.5-inch bays, three Silent Series R2 140 mm fans (front, rear and top), a fan controller, a top-placed panel with (USB 3.0 x 2, audio ports) and fan filters on the top, bottom and side panel.

Sales will start soon, but pre-orders can already be placed for €73.62 / $101.
