Brewers want high officials to do their best in protecting high-quality water sources

You can't make beer unless you have water. And you most definitely can't make good beer unless you have high-quality water.

Since fracking threatens to endanger water supply by ruining its quality, it's no wonder that German brewers have decided to send a letter to officials in Berlin asking that they make sure whatever water sources are used by the beer industry are protected against the dangers associated with shale gas exploration.

The brewers explain that, unless such measures are taken, the so-called Beer Purity Law passed in this country back in 1516 will sooner or later be violated, Tree Hugger reports.

In other words, the government would do best to roll out laws intended to ensure that no harmful chemical compounds end up in the beer produced in Germany.

More so given the fact that, as the Beer Purity Law clearly states, malt, hops, yeast and water are the only ingredients to be used when making beer.
