Greenheads in the country are becoming more imaginative everyday

News from the United Kingdom says that fracking protesters in this part of the world are becoming more imaginative as the days go by, and are constantly coming up with new and fairly odd ways to make sure that others know just how much they hate hydraulic fracturing.

Think Progress tells us that, this past Tuesday, two women decided to stage a protest at the Barton Moss fracking site in Manchester, England, and resorted to superglue to get their message across.

Thus, the women arrived at the fracking site in their Blue Ford Escort, and parked the vehicle in front of it.

They then reportedly cut a hole in the car's bottom, put a barrel of concrete in the hole and proceeded to superglue themselves into the barrel.

One can only assume they were trying to make sure that the police would not have an easy time removing them from the entrance to the Barton Moss fracking site, and that they would have more time to voice their complaints against the practice of hydraulic fracturing.

Then again, their innovative way of stating a protest was sure to get quite a lot of media attention, meaning that the women surely raised awareness of their cause.

As was to be expected, the two ladies were eventually arrested by local police officers. Still, they say that it was all worth it.

“They have done letter-writing, they have done going on marches, they have tried all the other means and nothing is working so they have had to resort to this. It’s not a decision they have taken lightly,” fellow campaigner Mandy Roundhouse told the press.

Just a few days before these two women's supergluing themselves to the barrel of concrete, one other fracking protester – also a lady – superglued herself to the gates at the entrance to the Barton Miss site.

She was removed after about two hours, and left the area quite pleased knowing that, at least for a short while, she kept workers from going about business as usual.

In December 2013, greenheads staged two other similar protests. Thus, they blocked the entrance to the Barton Moss fracking site in Manchester, England using first a wind turbine and then a bus.
