Foxy Brown, Trying to Fool a Judge

The only female artist who managed to encompass all the music styles on only one album ('Chyna Doll', 1999) seems to have a very hard time deciding what to plea in front of the court, in her trial of assault of two manicurists.

In 2004, Foxy Brown (real name Inga Marchand) kicked one woman and punched another in the face for a $20 manicure, which she said she hadn't received. After arriving late at the court hearing (claiming that she performed in Jamaica and couldn't leave earlier because of a hurricane), Foxy pleaded guilty to assault charges.

At the same time, the 26-year-old tempered rapper agreed to three years on probation, monthly court reports and drug tests and anger management classes. But even more than her outrageous attitude towards the court was the fact that, minutes after the plea was entered, she tried to get back inside and change it.

'I'm innocent in this case', Brown said, immediately after she said that her initial guilty plea was made because she had been rushed and pressed into it. But the judge wouldn't take Foxy's sudden change of heart and said that the first plea she made 'still stands'. The sentence in the case will be delivered to the rapper on October 23rd.

Meanwhile, another trial against the rapper is imminent as the owners of a trendy boutique in Greenwich Village claim that she ran away from the shop, without paying for two $400 belts she had on her. A police investigation is presently underway to determine whether the rapper stole the belts or not, but the owners of the shop have already said on their official website that charges will be pressed against Brown.
