The data is still available online on at least one website

British estate agency Foxtons is looking into the possible data breach that might have exposed the details of its customers.

The company hasn’t responded to my inquiry, but in a statement sent to customers (obtained by The Register), the company says it has downloaded the information published by hackers and is “currently running checks to determine its veracity.”

“Please be assured though that any sensitive information, including credit card information that you may have provided in relation to payments made through Foxtons is completely secure with our external payment providers,” Foxtons stated.

“Immediate action, however, has been taken to safeguard your account and an investigation will continue. Should your account be upon the list, you will be contacted directly by our Team.”

In the meantime, until the company determines if the data does come from its systems, users will be asked to reset their passwords next time they log in to their MyFoxtons accounts.

There’s one other thing that’s worth mentioning. Some report that the leaked data has been removed. It has been removed from Pastebin, but I’ve found at least one website that still hosts the user credentials.
