The main developer behind the long-running Metal Gear Solid series has announced that he will show off the new Fox Engine at an event at the end of August and suggested that fans might also get a sneak peek at the new game project from Kojima Productions.

Hideo Kojima, who is the leader of his own team inside Konami, has stated on the United States official PlayStation Blog that, “Although the Fox Engine is not finished we are ready to show what it can do, on August 30 in Japan to be more specific.”

Kojima made it clear that the development work on the Fox Engine is not yet done, but he is eager to show it off in order to give fans a glimpse of what they might get from it.

On August 30, Konami is putting on a big event in Japan set to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear Solid series.

The veteran developer added, “The Fox Engine is nearly finished, but the only way to be sure it works is to create a game at the same time and improve the engine with our tools as we go along. Originally we were going to do this for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, but a lot happened along the way and instead it is being made with the engine they have at Platinum Games.”

Kojima Productions has now been confirmed as working on a Zone of the Enders sequel while a separate team is also involved with an entirely new franchise bearing the name Project Ogre.

Kojima has hinted that the gameplay will be very different from everything he has done before.

Fans also suspect that the developers are also in the early stages of a new Metal Gear Solid title that will use the capabilities of the Fox Engine.
