The fourth day of the Steam Summer Sale 2014 has only a couple of Linux-compatible games as Daily Deals, but there are numerous others that are not even listed.

With the exception of the first day, the Steam Summer Sales didn't have a large number of games for the Linux platform. The fourth day follows the same trend and only two titles with Linux compatibility have been discounted, but that's only in the Daily Deals category. BattleBlock Theater is a 2D platformer built and published by The Behemoth studio. This is not the first discount for this game, but it's definitely the biggest.

“Shipwrecked. Captured. Betrayed. Forced to perform for an audience of cats? Yes, all that and more when you unlock BattleBlock Theater! There’s no turning back once you've started on your quest to free over 300 of your imprisoned friends from evil technological cats,” reads the official Steam website.

Players will get access to over 450 levels, 8 arenas for the multiplayer modes, unique animations for the characters, and even a level editor. The promotion is set to expire in a day and a half.

The second game on offer is Planetary Annihilation. This one was discounted numerous times on Steam for Linux, but it's still an expensive game. The price was set by the Kickstarter project and the developers had a hard time pushing it down. The Steam Summer Sale is a good opportunity to allow more users get their hands on this great game.

“Colonize solar systems, annihilate homeworlds, and obliterate your foes in epic interplanetary battles with multiple players and thousands of units. Planetary Annihilation takes the RTS to a never-before-seen scale -- and gives players powerful tools to control the action,” reads the synopsis for the game.

This is mainly a multiplayer title, but it also features a single-player mode. It's still in the development stages and there is no information on when it might become stable, but it's playable. In fact, Planetary Annihilation is one of the best sold games on the Linux platform despite the fact that developers are still working on it, and that says a lot about its quality. The promotion will last for another day and a half.

If you missed the promotion from yesterday, there is still time to get some of the titles with the same discount. They might be called Daily Deals, but they last for 48 hours. Users can purchase Wasteland 2 (33% off) and Project Zomboid (33% off) for the next 10 hours.
