The AMD VISION Pro-based ThinkPad X100e ultraportable laptop is far from being the only offering made by Lenovo to the business segment. The company also prepared a strong, Intel-powered product line for the higher segment, with four systems ready to tackle the heavy workloads in those fields, which rely heavily on data and graphics, such as the gas and the oil industries. The four systems put together by the company are the W510 mobile workstation and the T410s, T410 and T510 laptops.

“ThinkPad laptops are built for business with the performance, portability and wireless capabilities users need and the manageability, reliability and durability IT departments require,” Peter Hortensius, senior vice president, ThinkPad Business Unit, Lenovo, said. “These latest enhancements in processing speed, battery life and wireless technologies help users work faster, longer and smarter.”

The PCs use the latest Intel Core i7 processors and NVIDIA graphics, with a 1GB GPU for the W510 workstation and NVIDIA switchable graphics with 512 MB memory in the case of the T410s. The W510 can even accommodate up to 16GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 and will be the first ThinkPad to boast USB 3.0 ports. In addition, the W510 and T Series PCs can dynamically adjust the workload thanks to the Intel turbo Boost technology, thus automatically accelerating performance. As such, photography, design and any other type of graphics-heavy tasks will be fully supported.

Among the various upsides of the models are larger Delete and Escape keys and a multi-finger touchscreen in the case of the W510, which also boasts an optional color calibrator for color accuracy. Furthermore, all the computers are outfitted with a powered USB port for charging phones, MP3 players and other consumer electronics.

According to the press release, the systems will enable high levels of performance and productivity through excellent multi-tasking, high manageability for IT departments and a high level of energy efficiency, which enables certain ThinkPad systems to reach an astounding battery life of up to 22 hours. The configuration also makes use of the Qualcomm Gobi 2000 module for a wireless broadband connectivity.

The business laptops will become available on January 7 and will be priced at $1,399 for the T410s, at $999 for the T410 and T510 and at $1,599 for the W510. The purchase will be possible through both Lenovo's business partners and the company's own website.
