For people who would like to view the photos, videos or presentations stored on their phones or tablets, but don't have a PC or large screen handy, Epson has introduced four portable projectors.

Called PowerLite 1700, they aren't small enough to qualify as micro or mini projectors but they are easy enough to carry around in a bag.

The exact names are PowerLite 1751, 1761W, 1771W, and 1776W. The prices go from $649 (518 Euro) to $1,099 (877 Euro).

Only the projectors with W in their name support Wi-Fi, but all of them get USB (plug-and-play) and HDMI.

Finally, the image they can produce is 60 inches-wide from a distance of four feet (1.2 meters). And the resolution is 1,280 x 720 (WXGA), except on the 1751, which settles for 1,024 x 768 (XGA). Check with local retailers to see if they have received any shipments.
