Monitors have pretty standard feature sets these days, so buyers pay less attention to brand and manufacturers than said brands and manufacturers would like. That's why companies do their best to implement unusual features, like AOC just did with TAA approval.

TAA stands for Trade Agreement Act and determined what monitors are fit to be used in offices, or by government and educational institutions.

There are four displays in the TAA approved series: the 20-inch class e2060Swda-TAA, the 22-inch class e2260Swda-TAA and e2260Swdn-TAA models, and the 24-inch e2460Sd-TAA.

All of them have 16.7 million color depth, DCR (dynamic contrast ratio) of 20,000,000:1 (determines how clear the transitions are in dark scenes, and how sharp detail is when watching dark scenes in a dark room).

What's more, they all boast Kensington Security Slots (anti-theft) and Screen+ software (divide the display into up to four self-contained work areas), plus the iMenu software (allows mouse access of the easy-to-use On Screen Display menu).

Furthermore, the newcomers use LED backlighting, have up to 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution (Full HD) are Energy Star certified and ship with three-year warranties.

The e2060Swda-TAA is a 19.5-inch (20-inch) Energy Star, EPEAT Gold certified model with 1600 x 900 display resolution at 60 Hz, plus 220 cd/m2 brightness and VGA/DVI-D inputs. Its price is of $160 / €160. The response time is 5 ms and the frame hides two 2W speakers.

The e2260Swda-TAA, with a screen size of 21.5 inches (22-inch), is a Full HD display with 250 cd/m2 brightness but otherwise the same features as above. The price is of $190 / €190.

Third, the e2260Swdn-TAA, also a 21.5- / 22-inch panel, has a brightness of 200 cd/m2 but otherwise the same specs as above. It is priced at $180 / €180.

Finally, the e2460Sd-TAA is the only 24-inch monitor in the set. It lacks EPEAT Gold certification (or maybe AOC just forgot to mention it in the press release, though it's unlikely) but is otherwise identical to the e2260Swda-TAA. It still has EPA Energy Star rating though. The price is of $200 / €200.

All four monitors have LED backlighting technology made without mercury, making them more environmentally friendly than many of their ilk. Other assets include a textured black finish (a hair-line textured finish) and an Eco-mode that lets you choose from five display settings, for various energy savings and viewing conditions (sport, text, game, movie and Internet).
