Anonymous Brazil continues its operations against the country’s state and financial institutions, the latest victims being HSBC, Banco Bradesco, Itau and Banco do Brasil, attacked as part of OpWeeksPayment.

Currently, Bradesco and Banco do Brasil are up and running normally, the latter stating on its Twitter page that their website recorded a large volume of traffic, temporarily being taken out of use. They also reassured customers that this didn’t compromise data.

Itau and HSBC are still down, probably recovering from the distributed denial of service attacks that were launched against them by hackers.

Last week we witnessed a large number of operations targeting both law enforcement agencies and government institutions, but as it turns out, the hackers aren’t ready to quit yet.

More than 100 government and commercial websites were hacked and defaced so far, while others were taken offline after being targeted by DDOS attacks.
