This update adds support for some special characters in login password

Foscam has recently released a new set of firmware updates for its MJPEG cameras with FR WIFI module, namely FI8910W, FI8918W, FI8916W, FI8910E, FI8904W, FI8905W, FI8906W, FI8905E, and FI8919W. If your model is mentioned above, rejoice, as the new update will fix the bug in which one would not need to authenticate when using some CGI commands.

In addition to that, the login password can now contain some special characters, but not blank spaces, as these become “forbidden” with this release.

To update, download the new firmware for your Foscam camera and extract the contents of the archive to an accessible location. Make sure you connect the device via Ethernet cable and restart it.

First, log into your camera's web UI with administrator rights and go to “Device Management.” Select “Upgrade Device Firmware” and, in the section with the same name, browse for the system firmware. Click the “Submit” button and wait until the device restarts.

Next, repeat the procedure, only this time use the buttons from the “Upgrade Device Embedded Web UI” section.

When both procedures are complete and the camera is restarted again, check the two version numbers in the “Device Status” tab.

Get the new firmware for Foscam's MJPEG cameras with FR WIFI module, install the one for your model, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
