Foscam has made available a new firmware package targeted at two of its IP cameras, namely version 11.35.2.55 compatible with the FI8909W and FI8907W network devices, which includes a few changes that should improve the cameras’ overall stability and performance.

Specifically speaking, the newly outed update removes the possibility of using blank spaces in the login username and adds support for certain special characters in the login password. Moreover, the issue where no authentication was required when using some CGI commands has been resolved.

As for installing this fresh release, get and expand the downloadable archive, log into the camera’s dashboard, go to Device Management → Upgrade Device Firmware → Browse, and select and confirm the “lr_cmos_11_35_2_55.bin” file from within the “System Firmware” folder.

When the camera finishes installing the file and reboots itself, from the same path go to Upgrade Device Embedded Web UI → Browse, select the “2.4.30.10.bin” file from the “Web UI” folder, click “Open,” and wait for the device to perform the update.

Now, after the camera applies the new web UI firmware version, go to Device Status and ensure that the currently installed versions match with the ones you have just applied.

That being said, download Foscam FI8909W IP Camera Firmware 11.35.2.55 or download Foscam FI8907W IP Camera Firmware 11.35.2.55, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, and enjoy your newly updated IP camera.
