Foscam has recently updated the firmware version on its FI9805E H.264 outdoor HD camera to 1.14.1.18. This release adds support for ONVIF and a feature which automatically identifies illegal IP in firewall settings.

The full release notes can be read at the link below (and I strongly advise you do so). Included in this package are System firmware 1.4.1.8, App version 1.14.1.18 and Plug-in 2.0.1.6. These are the version numbers you should see in the “Device information” windows when the update is complete.

Foscam mentions that this update is a bit different as it involves more than one procedure. To make it even less complicated, you need to install the three bin files inside the archive separately, but using the same steps.

Before you begin, restart and then connect the camera through an Ethernet cable. Use the IP Camera Tool and go to “Settings,” “System,” “System Upgrade” and browse for the “HI3518A_ddr256M_sys_ver1.4.1.8.bin.” Wait for the update to complete and the camera to reboot.

Next, log into the camera again and repeat the above process for “FI9805E_app_ver1.14.0.26.bin” and then for “I9805E_app_ver1.14.1.18.bin.”

Get the latest firmware at the link below and stay “updated one minute ago.”
