14 DAY TRIAL // Forza Motorsport 6 is official, as Turn 10 Studios and Microsoft have revealed the game at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, focusing on its cover car in the form of the all-new Ford GT supercar.
The Forza Motorsport series has been around for quite some time, and of late, publisher Microsoft has adopted a yearly release schedule, giving the teams at Turn 10 and Playground two years to work on the new titles.
Forza Motorsport 6 is now official
After publishing Forza Horizon 2 last year on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 from Playground Games, Microsoft now confirms via Xbox Wire that Turn 10 is set to roll out Forza Motorsport 6 this fall for the Xbox One.
The confirmation came during the large scale North American International Auto Show in Detroit, as Microsoft partnered with Ford to headline the game using the all-new Ford GT supercar. The game received an official cover, showing the new Ford performance car, not to mention a small teaser video.
Gameplay footage arrives this summer
Those looking for a bit of actual gameplay with Forza Motorsport 6 in action must wait until E3 2015 in June, as Microsoft and Turn 10 confirm that they'll debut the first video with actual gameplay footage at the large event.
"Just as Ford has pushed the boundaries of car technology in GT, Forza Motorsport 6 will embrace that spirit of innovation as our most technically advanced racing simulation to date, offering a fun and realistic automotive experience for both car lovers and gamers," Dan Greenawalt, creative director at Turn 10 Studios, says. "We’re excited to unveil gameplay at E3 in June."
Besides the all-new Ford GT, Forza Motorsport 6 is also set to include many of the big Ford performance vehicles, among which the Shelby GT350 Mustang and the F-150 Raptor.
This year also marks the tenth anniversary of the Forza Motorsport series, meaning that founder Turn 10 Studios has big plans and plenty of surprises for fans of the series, who have supported the game throughout the years.
