Forza Motorsport 5 has just received a brand new update on the Xbox One that enables a major change to the method of delivery for downloadable cars, as all of them will be added to the player's garage immediately and for free, without the need to buy them with in-game or real-world cash.

Forza Motorsport 5 came out alongside the Xbox One on November 22 last year and delivered a great racing experience that ran at 60fps and a 1080p resolution, dazzling fans and impressing new owners of the console.

Since then, developer Turn 10 has released quite a lot of different DLC packs for the next-gen game, bringing paid and free cars, tracks, and mechanics.

Now, Turn 10 boss Dan Greenawalt has posted an open letter to fans from around the world on the official website, announcing a major change to the method of delivering DLC cars to players of Forza 5.

"With our most recent content update for Forza 5, I’m excited to say we’ve made some fundamental improvements to the Forza 5 experience for our fans. As of today, players who have purchased DLC cars in Forza Motorsport 5 can add those cars to their Forza 5 garage immediately, at no additional in-game cost," he said.

The new method will be applied to all sorts of possible DLC packs, from the large Car Pass, to smaller packs, according to the executive.

"And, moving forward, when you buy a Car Pass, a DLC car pack, or a single DLC car, you will be granted the one-time free addition of each car to your Forza 5 garage, without needing to purchase them with in-game credits or tokens. This goes for all current Forza Motorsport 5 DLC (including cars in previous DLC car packs) and it will be the case for all future Forza 5 DLC car packs."

What's more, Greenawalt has also confirmed that, after lots of fan feedback, the most recent update makes all the initial 200 cars from the game available as rentals, so that players can try them out before spending real or in-game cash on them.

Last but not least, the Turn 10 boss has also teased an upcoming free update for Forza 5 that's set to debut this April.

"This is important. We’re just getting started! In early April we’ll have another announcement about a free add-on to Forza 5 that I think you guys are going to love. I would love to tell you about it now… but I believe it will be worth the wait."

Forza 5 will get the premium Top Gear car pack tomorrow, April 1, on the Xbox One.
