It needs more space

Last week's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) brought forth a lot of interesting announcements and new games. Among them was Turn 10's Forza Motorsport 3, which will arrive exclusively for the Xbox 360 this October.

The sequel to one of the most beautiful and feature-rich titles made for the Microsoft console, this new game promises even bigger racing tracks, over 400 cars in it and many other features that will make players extremely excited about it. From on-the-fly HD video editing to complete customization of a car, the player’s every need is covered by the team at Turn 10.

But upon hearing about all of these features, many began to wonder whether just one DVD would be enough to contain all the textures and data required by the game. Now, Forza 3's content director, John Wendl, has revealed that the game will come on two discs in order to include all the resources needed by this huge and detailed experience.

“It is going to ship on two discs,” Wendl said, while talking with Joystiq. “Disc one is the full experience, even disc one is bigger than any other racing game out there. Disc two includes a lot of extra cars, even a handful of tracks."

It would seem that the data from the second disc will be transferred over to the Xbox 360 hard drive, making those who have the Arcade version of the console start looking for an HDD compatible with the device. Those who have a 20 GB hard drive might consider starting to delete some of the files on it.

This statement just goes to show that games are getting bigger and bigger and that even formats like the Blu-ray will become too small for the appetite of video game developers across the world. Stay tuned for more information about this title as soon as it arrives.
